 This Magnetic Red convertible...  This Magnetic Red convertible was donated by the Warren County Prevention Partnership to Captain Joe Jakub at the C5 Birthday Bash to increase the awareness of drug prevention. The fact that Warren County is the home of the Corvette Assembly Plant makes this donation very fitting. The graphics were designed by Liberty Graphics, and Borla Performance donated a performance exhaust to increase the performance in this crime-stopper showcase car. So this car would carry the tools necessary for the job, it has been fitted with radios, a scanner, and strobes by Mobile Communications. One could say that this Corvette takes fighting crime one step further. |

The Official C5 Registry threw themselves another party in April. The weekend of events included an auction of items donated by Chevrolet, the Corvette Assembly Plant, the C5-R race team, Mid America Direct, and Corsa Performance. The effort brought in $40,000 for the museum. There were also informative seminars by Dave Hill (chief engineer for the Corvette), Wil Cooksey (Corvette Assembly Plant manager), John Cafaro (Corvette chief designer), and Jim Campbell (Chevrolet brand manager).
If driving is your passion, the Birthday Bash had you covered as well, with autocross events and drag racing held during the weekend. The high point of the weekend was when Bob McDorman of Bob McDorman Chevrolet in Columbus, Ohio, donated a Magnetic Red 2000 convertible to the executive director of the museum, Wendell Strode.
The C5 Birthday Bash inspires a feeling of unity and family, and GM executives got caught up in the spirit. They walked the museum grounds all weekend, listening to customers concerns and stories about their Corvettes. After all, it was just a birthday party for the family.
