General Motors and the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KYhave donated a blue 1997 Corvette Coupe to the Kentucky State Police foranti-theft training purposes. Don Farrell, chief financial officer forthe GM Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, and Wendell Strode,executive director of the Corvette Museum, recently presented thevehicle to KSP representatives Maj. Mike Sapp, Capt. Jeff Mayberry, Sgt.Bob Motley and Det. Bill Riley. The car will be used to provide hands-oninstruction in identifying and recovering stolen vehicles and vehicleparts. Det. Riley, of KSP's Lexington-based vehicle identificationsection, says the Corvette will be modified so that officers can get abetter look at internal car parts. "This will enhance our teachingefforts and contribute greatly to the recovery of stolen vehicles inKentucky," says Riley.
