1967 Chevrolet Corvette - High Society

We all wish for a little luxury in our lives-a chance to put our feet up and experience some of the finer things in life.

For most Corvette fans, having a '67 Corvette is considered high society. One of the coolest Corvettes ever made, the '67 is still considered one of the most desirable, having arguably the cleanest shape of any mid-year plus great performance features. But often forgotten in discussions of big-cubic-inch L88 engines and M22 transmissions is the host of comfort items that were available for these great cars.

Al Loeffler knows comfort well. His beautiful Lynndale Blue convertible sports 19 factory options and one dealer-installed spiff, making it one of the highest (if not the highest) "optioned" '67s on the planet. With such rare special features as a speed-warning dashboard, shoulder-harness seatbelts, and headrest seats, this Corvette is one amazing example of Chevrolet's high-level luxury capabilities.

According to Al, the car was originally built on November 9, 1966 and delivered to Godfree Chevrolet in San Antonio. The car was not actually ordered for a customer, but was a floor model set front and center in the dealership to attract Corvette sales. Undoubtedly the car did its job.

Al is the third owner of this strikingly clean and uniquely colored Corvette. Having owned the car for only a year, only some cleanup was required to earn NCRS Top Flight status. The second Corvette owned by Al, this one looks to be a keeper.

If you were to visit Al and his Corvette, you'd find the car housed in a temperature-controlled garage in his home of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. It's a high-class setup for sure, and we're guessing both Al and his highly optioned Corvette are comfortable with it.
