As many guys do, I longed for a Corvette many years before getting one. When I was 25, I got married, bought a house, had kids, and did the family thing. I then bought my first Corvette: a '79 red coupe with 85,000 miles, sight unseen from my cousin for $5,000. I spent five years underneath it replacing and repairing what seemed like everything. In February 2000, I saw the only listed Corvette in the local newspaper: a '79 coupe with 16,000 miles. I had to buy it. The car now has 54,000 miles and has provided me hours of fun!

This is the first Vette I have ever owned. I whined to my wife for over three years for one. Finally, she gave in. I looked all over for about a year, ultimately finding this LT-1 in nearby Oregon. This C3 was sold brand-new in Oregon in 1970 and when I got it, it came with a book listing all of the previous owners, all from Oregon. One thing I did to the car was install a chambered exhaust system from Mid America. Now it sounds great. The first show we entered it into landed a first place in the C3 class. The picture is in front of an historic gas station on I-84 in eastern Washington State.

This is my '95 LT-1 six-speed coupe. I bought the car new from Bud's Chevrolet in St. Mary's, Ohio. I've been really busy working on my Vette as indicated by the lengthy list of mods. The major changes include MORE performance top end kit raking in about 430 net horses, DRM long tube headers, 4.09 gears, GM GS wheels, tires (now Goodyear F1s 315/35 and 275/40s) and fender flares, Power Effects exhaust, Greenwood rear wing, window tint, and aggressive racing stripes. Amazingly, the car has only 68,000 miles, given that it's my daily driver. The fighter jet, sadly, is not mine.
