Well, another year has passed, and once again it's time to present our Vette-Rod Source Guide. As far as the quantity of Vette-Rod enthusiasts, it seems that more people are deciding to build or buy their own custom version of America's only sports car instead of restoring theirs back to original specs. Many owners have related that they're just plain tired of the hassles (read: politics) involved in judging, and now they just want a Vette they can drive and have fun with. The Vette-Rod market in general has leveled off a bit due to all the problems with our nation's economy, but it hasn't tanked like many other facets of the automotive industry. The companies listed are still in business, so that's a positive sign.
As we mentioned last year, before you do decide to jump into the turnkey Vette-Rod waters, make sure to spend some time behind the wheel of each builder's offering before making a choice and note what differences exist between each car. Without a doubt, you will discover how fun it is to drive these Corvettes. If you decide to build your own car, make sure you explore all the parts that can be used to build your next project as more and more new products continue to be developed all the time. You should also talk to current owners to see what and why they used specific products in their own vehicles.
Again, as in earlier years, our Vette-Rod Source Guide contains the most current names, specialty companies, and contacts of this ever-growing segment of the Corvette hobby. It not only contains those companies offering turnkey cars and complete chassis, but also those selling individual component pieces for building that chassis to your specific application. Please include Dept. CF, Vette-Rod, on all written inquiries to these companies or make sure to mention you saw them in the CF Vette-Rod Source Guide when calling them.
