Replacing a well-worn 327 (which replaced the original 283) is this '95-vintage LT1 small-block, which puts out more power than any factory '60 Corvette engine did.

'95 Corvette: (Front) Transverse composite monoleaf spring with unequal-length aluminum control arms, stabilizer bar, and QA1 coilovers. (Rear) Fully-independent five-link system with transverse fiberglass single-leaf spring, aluminum upper/lower trailing links, strut-rod tie-rod assembly, and QA1 coilovers.
