Two-Piece Baer Brake Upgrade

Next, Chris is ready to install the "intermediate bracket" that movesthe caliper in alignment for installation of the larger rotor. The stockrotor was 12" and the rotor from Baer is 14".

Chris toques the intermediate bracket to the bottom ear of the spindleto 110 foot pounds. The bracket is a permanent fixture, meaning itdoesn't need to be removed during brake service.

The intermediate bracket moves the caliper mounting out an inch to makeup for the larger diameter Baer rotor, which now slips onto the hub.

Next, install and bolt on the calipers.

The 14" rear rotors look trick installed and offer a significantincrease in rotor area for a boost in stopping power over the stockrotors.

The 14" rotors are readily visible with the rear wheels installed.
