A very useful article if you wish to keep the BOSE system. However, its EXPEN$IVE to maintain for marginal sound quality. They are a major problem to service as you have to disassemble far too much of your car or pay someone BIG$$ to do it! The BOSE system survives merely on the Corvette tendency to "restore" and keep OEM while lining the pockets of Vette companies specializing in BOSE repair. Reality is that used non-Bose GM head units with adequate power are readily available that still look stock.  Today's better speaker technology easily fits behind OEM grills and unless NCRS judges start removing the grills no one would even know!
