Air Flow Research introduces its new LS1 aluminum cylinder head designed specifically for late-model Chevy Corvettes, Camaros, and trucks. The LS1 head offers unmatched flow performance and features 2.020-1.600-inch valves and 300-plus cfm at 0.600-inch lift. With only 205cc port volume (same as the stock LS1 head), this is an incredible 70-cfm increase over stock, creating unbelievable port velocity and performance. It is available in two CNC-ported runner sizes: 205cc and 225cc, with 66cc and 76cc combustion-chamber volumes available in both versions. An affordable "as-cast" version is also available.
AFR's LS1 head is a direct bolt-on replacement-no special parts required. Structural features such as Air Flow Research's trademark thick-head deck, reinforced rocker stud bosses, and a thick wall runner provide unparalleled durability. An exclusive new combustion-chamber design provides impressive swirl figures and helps the LS1 generate big low- and mid-lift airflow numbers.
Coming To An Engine Shop Near YouAFR will be releasing a larger 225cc version (shortly after the 205s) that will feature a slightly better-flowing exhaust port as well. Both intake and exhaust ports should flow at least 10 cfm more than the 205cc version, and it is aimed at larger cubic-inch short-block applications or a more aggressive 346ci application (supercharged, nitrous, etc.)
