Vette Rods Continue To Rule
This month we say goodbye to the Timber Wolf C2 we have been building in CF over the last six months or so. This build was difficult due to the incredible amount of work that had to take place in the very short timeframe we had to operate within. Regardless of all that, the car turned out awesome. You just can't believe how nice this car is until you see it for yourself in the flesh. So much so, I decided that we had to run the car as a full-fledged feature just so all of you would get the chance to really see the car in a proper feature-shoot environment. Since this car is a Vette Rod in the truest sense, it also deserved to be on the cover of our annual Vette-Rod issue. I hope you enjoy looking at this special Corvette as much as I do.
The Vette-Rod segment of the Corvette hobby continues to grow more and more each year. This is no more evident than in our annual Vette-Rod Source Guide this year. This guide has grown dramatically from last year, and for all intents and purposes, this growth is just mimicking the Vette-Rod hobby in general. More and more builders and suppliers are catching this new "wave" of our hobby.
More Corvettes are being sourced for Vette-Rod projects than ever before. More and more high-dollar Vette Rods are being sold at high-profile auctions for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Lots of spec-built Vette Rods are now being built by professional shops in various parts of the country, many with one- to three-year waiting lists. Many builders are now selling their second or third cars to their customers for their second and third homes in vacation destinations across the U.S.
The popularity of the Vette Rod is growing by leaps and bounds, while other parts of the Corvette hobby are beginning to see the signs of some struggle. Parts of the Corvette hobby that have been strong for decades are now having to diversify into other areas just to keep their heads above water. While the Corvette hobby is as strong as it ever was, the torch is being passed on to a different group of individuals who just like to own unique vehicles, have fun, and enjoy the open road in the Corvette of their choice. Right On!
