Short story version: By-Passed the Start-Delay Relay in dash center. Car now cranks over, however it will not start. Checked fuel pump has power, does not pump. Replaced pump, car started and I let it run for an hour. Next day it would not start, but did crank. Replace fuel pump relay next to wiper motor. Not starting, any advice. DO NOT UNBOLT your throttle bodies from the top of the manifold.. syncing them is quite involved.. so they open at the exact same time.. other posts have talked about using truck TBI injectors.. but i don't know which one.. there are several articles on the crossfire here in the corvette magazines on this site.. i can link them if you have not read them... there is also a 8 buck pdf download of a crossfire tech manual available online if you don't have a crossfire manual.. the az site covers crossfire in 3 different sections.. 82,C3.. 84, C4, and 83, firebird follow what i have posted.. as i work on these often.. and am very familiar with TBI fuel injection..

1984 fuel problems/ rear injector isnt firing |

Make it a country wide event?
I'm hoping to get the word out on an event we're planning here in Southern Nevada we're calling "60 for 60", a celebration consisting of a car show/display, food, trivia, and general gearhead good times with the highlight being a Rev-Off of all Corvettes present to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the first production Corvettes to roll off the assembly line. While we're looking forward to a great celebration here in Vegas, what I'm hoping to generate is a nationwide event where Corvette owners all over the country gather to celebrate their mutual passion for Corvettes... then at precisely 12 Noon Pacific Standard Time we all fire up the motors and make some joyful engine noise. So if you're in a club... put something together in your home town. If you're not in a club, maybe look one up and see if they're doing the event. Or hey, no saying you can't just go into your garage at Noon PST, open a beverage and fire up your Vette for 60 seconds. Your neighbors won't mind... I'm sure they've heard it before! Anyway, I hope you'll participate, and if you do, maybe post a video on Youtube at 60 for 60 Corvette Rev-Off. I'll be posting a promo video soon. Let's go make some noise! HTTP://content.mamotorworks.com/img300/fr3852.jpg Shown above are some pictures of the hood latches on a 1978. Nothing is more frustrating than pulling on the hood release of your 1968-1982 Corvette and having the cable snap! We have observed this happening at nearly every show that we attend. Simple maintenance, such as lubricating and checking the cables for wear will reduce the chance of unexpected failure, but if the worst does occur, there is a simple solution. Located in the windshield wiper well, just in front of the windshield, are two access ports covered by plastic plugs. These are positioned just behind the hood latches in the engine compartment. Take a few minutes to check the location of the ports and their positions relative to the hood latches. In an emergency, you can push a long screwdriver through these plugs on 1968-1976 models and flip the hood latches forward enough to release them. On 1977-1982 models, the hood latches may be tripped by prying the driver's side latch lever to the outside. This should release both sides, but if it only releases the driver's side, then repeat the procedure on the passenger's side access port. A) Shown here is the driver's side hood latch. Insert a long screwdriver (approx. 12") through the grommet from the windshield side and insert the tip into the slot on the latch. Push in the direction of the arrows. B) Here's a close-up of the drivers side latch with the screwdriver engaging the slot. If the crossover cable isn't broken, this should pop the hood. C) If the crossover cable is broken, you will need to repeat the procedure on the passenger side. The passenger side latch works a bit differently. Insert the screwdriver to engage the tang shown on the right and lever it down (in the direction of the left-most arrow). D) The screwdriver only has to be inserted an inch or so to engage the passenger side tang. Take a few minutes now to check out these access ports and practice the procedure. It's much easier to do if you practice with the hood open and get a feel for the locations and distances to reach these latches. If your cables are old and looking frayed, replacement now would be strongly suggested. By learning this simple technique, you just may "save the day" for yourself or a fellow Corvette owner.? post if you get it open...

1976 corvette hood |

Was also given a 85 tpi engine and trans to use in the car along with an 85 ecm. I realize i'm going to run into some wiring issues, but what else can i expect to have issues with. Another thing i noticed while going over the car was a data plate under the fuel tank lid was not from an 84, it was from tpi 350, should this be telling me the old owner had all ready started the 85 conversion, or am just wishing? Any help would be great, thanks Phil

1984 cfi |
