DO NOT UNBOLT your throttle bodies from the top of the manifold.. syncing them is quite involved.. so they open at the exact same time.. other posts have talked about using truck TBI injectors.. but i don't know which one.. there are several articles on the crossfire here in the corvette magazines on this site.. i can link them if you have not read them... there is also a 8 buck pdf download of a crossfire tech manual available online if you don't have a crossfire manual.. the az site covers crossfire in 3 different sections.. 82,C3.. 84, C4, and 83, firebird follow what i have posted.. as i work on these often.. and am very familiar with TBI fuel injection..

1984 fuel problems/ rear injector isnt firing |

Make it a country wide event?
I'm hoping to get the word out on an event we're planning here in Southern Nevada we're calling "60 for 60", a celebration consisting of a car show/display, food, trivia, and general gearhead good times with the highlight being a Rev-Off of all Corvettes present to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the first production Corvettes to roll off the assembly line. While we're looking forward to a great celebration here in Vegas, what I'm hoping to generate is a nationwide event where Corvette owners all over the country gather to celebrate their mutual passion for Corvettes... then at precisely 12 Noon Pacific Standard Time we all fire up the motors and make some joyful engine noise. So if you're in a club... put something together in your home town. If you're not in a club, maybe look one up and see if they're doing the event. Or hey, no saying you can't just go into your garage at Noon PST, open a beverage and fire up your Vette for 60 seconds. Your neighbors won't mind... I'm sure they've heard it before! Anyway, I hope you'll participate, and if you do, maybe post a video on Youtube at 60 for 60 Corvette Rev-Off. I'll be posting a promo video soon. Let's go make some noise! All good points to consider. I waited a long time to buy my first Vette, selling is an afterthought. The "plan" is to have it a long long time! Im old school, I would prefer it be as original as possible. I have passed on cars with aftermarket stereos etc. so aftermarket intake worries me. Not sure who did the swap and when. From the posts here it doesnt sound like an easy thing to do and done wrong...? I do have a some questions about the actual injector, however, for gooddday87, it just so happens I was reading the haynes manual and there is a section about the very problem you are experiencing and how to pinpoint where the problem is. It seems there are a number of location where there can be a blockage, including as suggested here, the fuel filter. Also there is a front and rear injector, and they are different. My question is on the actual injector. It appears that a lot of cars have had the truck injector installed and even though it will work, it is not correct pressure and volume according to FIC ( rebuilders). The number on the injector is 170640973. I was given these numbers as the correct part number. Actual 84 is 5233770/5233775. The 82 model year is 17078827/17078846. My attempts to find the correct ones to use as cores to rebuild has failed to the point that my information is being questioned. A used supplier cehcked 10 pair and all were the truck units. Does anybody know the real story on the part numbers and using the truck ones. Thanks and sorry for the long post.
