The tensioner pulley assembly is close to the lower radiator hose, so we placed a piece of high-heat-reinforced rubber to protect the hose. On some cars, the hoses are closer than others, so be sure to use some kind of guard to protect the hose. The hose coming in contact with the tensioner won't hurt it. The problem is the tensioner arm moves around under load, scraping the hose. View Related Article
