C1 Corvette Clutch Install Splash Shield Bolts

This is the location of the two splash shield bolts that are shrouded by the oil filter. The other side of the splash shield is held in place by the three starter motor bolts, which must be removed since they hold the bell housing to the engine block. Since the battery positive cable connects directly to the starter solenoid, it's important to disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery before starting the job. Also, note that the battery ground cable connects to one of the starter bolts. Be sure to re-install it upon reassembly. View Related Article
