C5 Corvette Shifter Install - Shifting Into Higher Gears, Part 1

Remove ash tray.
Remove plastic sensor cover and T-15 Torx screw.
Remove T-15 Torx screw at lighter location.
Remove T-15 Torx screw behind ashtray well.
Slide rear center console portion back.
Remove front center console portion back. You can see here that the shifter boot is still in the car. While putting the complete shifter boot assembly under the console is an option when you install a new shifter (or shift boot), installing it this way makes it more difficult to access the boot and shifter. We will install the shift boot the OE way at the end of the install.

Unplug cigarette wire connector.
After removing the shift boot, remove rubber shifter boot (10mm) nuts.
Lift rubber shifter boot.
Remove shifter bolts (10mm).
Make sure when you remove the original gasket, no particles fall into transmission case.
