Corvette Brake Rotors

This plastic lip (red arrows) helps cool the brakes by setting up a vortex in the wheelwell, which in turn sucks air out of the wheel. You can actually trace the airflow in this picture. The air is shoved into the backside of the brake rotor and is then forced out the vanes. From there the hot air flows through the spokes of the wheel and into the atmosphere. View Related Article
