6. Construction Phase
a) Chassis, Brakes & Suspension
Clean chassis: media blast, acid dip, etc.
Inspect & repair as necessary
Paint chassis and components Assemble
components incl. wheels & tires
Install brake and fuel lines
Install fuel tank (mid-year)
       
b) Engine & Drivetrain
Install engine accessories (alt; A/C, headers, etc.)
Install engine, transmission, driveshaft and differential in chassis
Build & install exhaust system
Connect fuel lines
       
c) Bodywork, Components & Painting
Strip old paint (media blast, chemical, etc.)
Complete body work and repairs
Prime and paint body
Install body wiring systems
Install weatherstripping
Install door, windshield and other glass
Install stainless trim components
Drop body on Chassis
Install radiator and cooling system plumbing
Install fuel tank, cover & filler/vent lines (C1)
Install & align doors, trunk, hood, etc.
Connect electrical wiring
Install headlight, tail lights, etc.
Install wiper system
Install braces, bumpers, grille, emblems
Install battery
       
d) Interior Components
Install dash, gauges, switches, steering column, insulation
Install carpeting (consider heat barrier)
Install interior trim, headliner, seats, seatbelts
       
e) Miscellaneous
State Inspection
Registration
Insurance
Systems operations testing
Road test
